There are currently multiple chat widgets to choose from to generate leads on funnel and website pages within the GoHighlevel platform. Let’s explore the options available.
Each sub account can only have one type of chat widget configured at a time.
SMS or Email Chat Widget
This GoHighlevel chat widget was the original one released to the GoHighlevel users.
This highlevel chat widget is the basis for the other two chat widgets and allows users to configure multiple items about the way the chat widget looks and feels. Let’s go over some of the available configuration settings.
Here are the areas of configuration for each webchat widget.
Chat Bubble Setup
We can turn on whether the chat bubble is enabled or not, and the message that gets displayed on the chat bubble. You can change the webchat widget image that gets displayed to another person or even a company logo. The widget even remembers if the website visitors have been to your site previously and offers a return message rather than having them fill out the chat widget information again.
Chat Type Setup
The SMS or Email Chat and the live chat are always available to choose from but to have the WhatsApp option you must have the WhatsApp feature enabled and have a phone number configured.
Widget Window Setup
Once you click on the chat widget bubble you see the screen that asks you for user information. This screen can be completely customized from the header text and color to whether or not you request the email address field and the phone number. You can also require a consent box before submitting, which I recommend permits you to contact them via text or email.
Acknowledgment Settings Setup
Once the website visitor fills out the form you can now customize what is shown afterward on the acknowledgment screen.
Once the information has been submitted GoHighlevel will create or update a contact record in your CRM. You can then have a workflow automation start that can contact a team member or you can even use the built-in artificial intelligence AI features to respond to the person directly. The conversation afterward will be done using SMS.
Live Chat
This version of chat does not require the website visitor to enter any information but simply can type to get a response from a support person. The live chat widget does look a little different.
When a website visitor types something into the chat widget GoHighlevel will create an anonymous user in the CRM and show that user in the conversation area. This is where the support person will need to respond back to the website visitor with all communication.
WhatsApp Chat
To use this feature the WhatsApp feature has to be activated and the phone number being using for communication has to be selected.
When you have this chat widget enabled and a user sends a message GoHighlevel will create a contact record for this person and they will be redirected to a WhatsApp page. You can communicate with this person using the conversations area just like in the live chat setup.
How to Enable the Chat Widget on a Landing Page or Website?
It does not matter if you are using a landing page or website in GoHighlevel or a WordPress site you can use any of the chat widgets using the code the GoHighlevel provides for you.
If you use a landing page or website within GoHighlevel you can turn the chat widget on by enabling the toggle switch on the page settings area.
If you use a WordPress website you can use the code feature on the GoHighlevel Chat Widget settings page.
You would copy the code and insert it in the header area of your WordPress site. If you ever change the GoHighlevel chat widget settings you will have to refresh the code on the WordPress sites.
