What are GoHighlevel Opportunity Custom Fields?
The Custom Fields for Opportunities feature enables businesses to add, customize, and organize specific data fields for their sales opportunities.
This provides greater flexibility and precision in tracking potential sales or tasks. It allows businesses to include additional data points unique to their operations or sales processes. These custom fields can range from project deadlines to product specifications, client preferences, etc.
Furthermore, this feature allows businesses to categorize these custom fields into various folders, creating a more organized and streamlined view. There’s also an option to hide empty fields, ensuring a clean and efficient visual of opportunity cards.
What is GoHighlevel/Highlevel?
GoHighlevel, or just Highlevel as its users call it, is an all-in-one sales and marketing platform for marketing agencies and small businesses. The GoHighlevel platform offers every tool needed to run a business successfully at a fixed monthly cost. The GoHighlevel platform allows you to Whitelabel their software so agencies can use this platform and brand it like it was their own. This allows agencies to create a Software as a Service (SaaS) business and an additional monthly recurring revenue stream.
Typically, agencies would perform a job for their client, like building a website or running Facebook ads, only to have the job end or the client cancel their service. Now, agencies have to continue to market to find another client. Now, with Gohighlevel, you can migrate your clients off whatever CRM, email marketing tool, phone system, or funnel software they may be using and run their business entirely off the GoHighlevel platform. The best thing about this is that your clients pay you monthly for these services. You can charge $297, $497, or whatever you want to charge for these services, and your client continues to pay for these each month like a utility, creating a stable recurring monthly revenue.
GoHighlevel sets no limits for its users on any paid plan so that you can have unlimited contacts, websites, funnels, email or text templates, and workflows. There are also no limits for storage, so you can host as many videos, files, documents, or images as you or your clients may have.

What is a Custom Field?
A custom field in GoHighLevel software represents a powerful feature that allows users to personalize and expand the scope of data management within the platform. Designed explicitly for CRM (Customer Relationship Management) functionalities, these fields enable businesses to tailor the information they gather and maintain about contacts, leads, customers, or business operations to suit their unique business needs.
In practical terms, a custom field can be a text box, a date picker, a number field, or even a dropdown list, among other types. This flexibility means businesses can create fields for virtually any data they need to track. For example, a real estate firm might add custom fields for property type, listing date, or agent commission rates, while a marketing agency might use them for campaign start dates, budget amounts, or client industry types.
Custom fields are valuable for segmenting data, enabling more targeted marketing campaigns, detailed reporting, and personalized customer interactions. They facilitate the organization and retrieval of data specific to the business’s operations and client interactions.
Moreover, GoHighLevel’s custom fields are not just static data points; they can be integrated with the platform’s automation tools. Data entered into these fields can trigger specific workflows, automation, or communications, enhancing the software’s efficiency and customization potential. This level of customization is crucial for businesses looking to tailor their CRM system to their specific processes and workflows, ensuring that the software adapts to their business model rather than the other way around.
How do you use Opportunity Custom Fields in GoHighlevel?
Custom fields have been available inside the GoHighlevel CRM for some time, but its users wanted the same ability to do this with the leads stored in the sales pipeline feature. Now, you can create as many custom fields for your sales leads as possible.
Here are the normal opportunity fields you have to work with by default.
If there is any other data you want to keep for your leads, you will need to create a custom field to hold that value. Any fields you create will show up at the bottom of this screen. Go to your account settings and custom fields to add a custom field. Click the Add Field button and choose the data type you will collect. You have several options to choose from.
In this example, I will create a Birthday field and choose the Date Picker since it’s the best choice to store dates.
Notice that you can choose contact or opportunity in the Object field. Now that the field has been created, it shows in the list of custom fields.
Now that you have created this field, it will appear within your pipeline’s opportunity fields.
Another great feature of GoHighlevel is that now you can filter leads within opportunities and even use custom fields as a filter.
