What is the GoHighlevel SaaS Configurator?
The GoHighlevel SaaS Configurator is a tool available to users on the Agency Pro plan ($497) and allows agencies to set up predetermined product plans to sell to their customers. Before using this product, you must connect your stripe account with the GoHighlevel agency dashboard first, and then you can create your plans with the SaaS Configurator.
With this tool, you can configure up to twenty different GoHighlevel SaaS pricing plans, which are saved directly into your stripe account as products. You can set up both monthly or yearly billing with each project. You don’t have this feature even with the agency unlimited account.
GoHighlevel highly recommends not adjusting or deleting these products in Stripe directly but using the SaaS configurator to make changes; otherwise, bad things will happen!
What is GoHighlevel/Highlevel?
When you hear about Highlevel software, a SaaS company, you might also hear it called GoHighlevel. They use these names interchangeably because, when HighLevel was established, the .com domain for Highlevel was unavailable, so the founders chose GoHighlevel.com as the domain to represent their software.
Highlevel is an all-in-one sales and marketing software platform built for marketing agencies and small businesses. Highlevel also uses the SaaS subscription model for its software. However, they have created their software to allow each of its users to re-sell Highlevel to other people using the same SaaS model.
So, for the Highlevel software system, you pay a monthly subscription fee from $97 to $497, depending on your chosen plan. Then, you can re-sell the software to an unlimited number of people, depending on your plan, for whatever monthly fee you charge your clients using Highlevel SaaS mode.

What is SaaS?
SaaS stands for “Software-as-a-Service.” It is a delivery model for software applications where the software is hosted in the cloud and provided to users over the Internet on a subscription basis. With SaaS, users can access the software and its features through a web browser without installing or maintaining any software locally on their computer or device. SaaS has become a popular model for software delivery as it offers benefits such as easy scalability, automatic updates, lower upfront costs, and greater accessibility. Many popular software solutions, including email marketing platforms, customer relationship management (CRM) systems, and project management tools, are provided as SaaS offerings.
SaaS vs Regular Accounts
When creating sub-accounts within Gohighlevel, you can create the sub-account as a SaaS mode or regular account. There are significant differences between these two account types. Any account created using the SaaS configurator is a SaaS mode account. You can create a SaaS or Regular account in the Agency > Sub-Account area by clicking the Create Sub-Account button. If you create a regular report, you will need to create it manually, and if you have a client with this type of account, you will need to bill this account for monthly charges manually, so consider this when you choose the account type to create.
GoHighlevel SaaS mode is the account you want to create because you are offered the most automation with these accounts.
SaaS Configurator Settings
Here is the SaaS Configurator main dashboard. Let’s take a look.
This screen has a lot of information, so let’s break it down.
Menu Options
Plans & Pricing
This represents the central area of the dashboard, and I will cover all settings in this area further in this article.
Advanced Settings
This tab covers some options that can be set up at an agency level. You can turn on three options for all your SaaS accounts in the Subscription settings.
- Suspend sub-account when SaaS subscription fails – If the client payment fails or the credit card does not go through, the SaaS account will be paused automatically. None of the users within that sub-account can log in until the payment has been made. If this is not turned on, sub-accounts can continue to work even if they have not paid for your services.
- Allow sub-account admins to upgrade their subscription – Self-explanatory. If you turn this on, you allow the sub-account admins to go into their Settings > Company Billing and change their subscription to another plan you set up in the SaaS configurator. If this is not turned on, the admins must notify the agency by phone or email to change their plan type.
- Allow sub-account admins to cancel their subscriptions – If this is turned on, your clients can cancel their subscriptions from their sub-account’s Settings > Company Billing area. The client must contact the agency to cancel their account if this is turned off.
Welcome Email
This area lets you set up a custom email template so that anyone who signs up under your SaaS account will receive the email template you configured here. When you first enable this feature, you must select a sub-account where the email template will be stored, and the GoHighlevewl system will create a folder in that sub-account called “[Do Not Edit] SaaS Configurator Templates.” The email template is stored in that folder.
Security
This feature was set up within GoHighlevel to prevent credit card scammers from taking advantage of agency owners. If you turn this feature on, any SaaS accounts created automatically will be paused by default until an agency user approves the request. When you get accounts set up in your account, you will see this in the New Requests area on this screen.
You will have to do your due diligence to make sure the account is valid, and if you want to proceed, you will have to click Approve.
The sub-account will be created, and the admin user account will be made, but the sub-account will be paused until approved. Remember that any paused accounts can’t be accessed by users until corrected.
Plans & Pricing
This represents the main SaaS Configuration dashboard. Each plan has its own space on the dashboard. Let’s take a look at each element within each plan.
Elements of Each Plan:
Name: Each plan has its name within the dashboard.
Features: Each icon under this area represents a particular feature in the GoHighlevel platform. If the icon is present, that feature is provided in that plan.
Trial Period: If you allow a trial period with your SaaS product, it will be listed here.
Complimentary Credits: Besides the price for your SaaS plans, there will be additional costs for using the platform each month, such as phone calls, text messages, and emails. It will be listed here if you have chosen to provide a certain amount of monthly money towards these services.
Plan Costs: You see, there are monthly and yearly plan costs. If you click on the link above the pricing, it will direct you to your stripe account, where that product is configured.
Copy Sale Link: You can click on this link, and the system will generate a link you can send a customer to purchase your product directly via text or email.
Snapshot Attached: If you wish to have a snapshot attached to each plan that will be installed in their account every time a user signs up, then you can specify it here.
Edit Details: This allows you to edit the details of the plan. Let’s explore those settings now.
Plan Details
Give the plan a name and description.
Pricing
You can set the plan monthly and yearly prices. You might discount annual payments to get customers to opt in. Even though the GoHighlevel platform has no limits concerning users or CRM contacts, you can now set limits for your customers by indicating them here.
Features
All the features with GoHighlevel are listed here, and you need to select the ones you want to allow with this plan. You can also attach a snapshot to this plan by choosing the Add Snapshot button in the top right.
Trials and Credits
If you want to offer a trial period, you can enable the feature and choose the number of days the trial period will last. You can also add credits each month to your plan by enabling the feature and choosing the amount of the credit.
ReBilling
Each item to the left offers rebilling, which is the ability to markup these services before they are provided to your clients. The sliding scale makes it easy to set how much you charge your customers. You can go up to 10x on the slide scale.
GoHighlevel SaaS Configurator Conclusion
GoHighlevel software has quickly become the leader in business software, and I believe the SaaS feature is the primary reason for its success. As an agency owner, have you ever imagined that you could have a branded desktop app using the Highlevel platform and have an unlimited number of clients for just one fixed monthly price?
